Cottages were nice enough. Holiday was good. However whole experience has been a bit tainted when we realised we left my 7 year old daughter’s glasses in one of the cottages. Contacted agents who confirmed glasses had been found to then be asked to post them a self addressed stamped envelope for them to return them to us… family stayed in 4 of their cottages for the the weekend and they can’t buy an envelope and stamp to send the glasses back. These are the touches that leave the lasting impressions for me as a customer and think this lack of decency is shocking. 100% would not re book to visit on the back of, essentially, the cost of a stamp.

We stayed as a family of 4 for 2 nights. Accommodation is very clean and well equipped. We did a click and collect door shop from a supermarket 10 mins away. There is a pub right next door with a playground. There are ample grounds for kids to play and also a playground on site. The swimming pool was great and clean. There is also table tennis and a pool table. The location is fantastic. We did dovedale and Thores Cave and heights of Abraham; all very close. Thoroughly recommend this place as a base if you’re exploring the Peak District. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Also very understanding as I got the dates wrong and didn’t check out on time. Oooops; they were great though.

We stayed here as a guest at a wedding, with everyone staying at the multiple cottages on site. Our cottage was comfortable and clean, there is plenty of parking, the function space was ideal, with loads of outside space as well for the celebrations. The weather was really wet but it didn’t matter because the combination of indoor and outdoor space made it simple to switch to an indoor plan. This place would be great for any weekend away but if you’re looking for somewhere for a wedding, this is definitely worth looking at!

We picked Knockerdown as we wanted to have a weekend away in the Peak District with some family friends. We booked two cottages - Dove and Edale. Both cottages were beautiful. Spacious (Edale was definitely a bit bigger), modern, clean - well equipped too for self catering if you choose to eat in. There was plenty of washing up liquid, tea, coffee and loo roll. The site itself is spotless. Our teenagers loved the swimming pool and the pool table got plenty of use too. On the Saturday night we visited the Knockerdown pub and again, the food was great and the service was lovely too. Highly recommend! Sunday we took a stroll along Lumsdale Falls (about 20 mins drive away) and had Sunday lunch at the Duke of Wellington before we headed home. Lumsdale Falls is just beautiful. I’m so glad it is open again after being closed during Covid. The Duke of Wellington was very welcoming, managing to fit 8 of us in for lunch. The food was lovely and the staff very friendly. All in all it was a lovely visit and we would definitely return!

Negatives first, we were in the end cottage and was kept awake all night by a huge spotlight shining in the window, pillows are rock hard and the bathroom fan is extremely noisy, could also do with a towel rail in the bathroom no where to hang wet towels. But cottage was clean warm and everything you need for a comfy stay. Swimming pool an added bonus, had it all to myself. Good pub across the road. Loved the Christmas tree.

We stayed with friends in Dove Cottage. The small complex is well run and ideal for families with children. Yes as the last reviewer said there is quite a bit of road noise but once inside it is peaceful. The cottages are furnished well and very clean. Beds are comfortable and good quality. We had Sunday lunch at the pub opposite which I would not recommend but maybe it was an off day. We enjoyed our long weekend and would happily stay again if in the area.

Absolutely loved our stay here! Great location and facilities. The cottage itself was beautiful with everything you need. Both times we visited the pool we had it all to ourselves which was great. Kids loved the games room and the views were lovely.

Absolutely beautiful destination, a gorgeous little cottage with a pool, play area and within walking distance from a lovely pub and water reservoir. The staff are really lovely and we were close to alton towers. The only negative was the showers were either boiling hot or freezing cold. I'm sure there is a right way to use them which I hadn't quite figured out. Also the tvs were quite old. I know you don't go on holiday to watch TV but when you have a young child it would have been nice to plug in our fire stick so we could watch a movie whilst he was asleep. Also there was a dvd player but no dvds. Would be nice if there were a few in each cottage. Except for this it really was a lovely cottage and stay. Felt really homely and loved how the cottage smelt like lavender when we arrived.

We booked three cottages over the Easter weekend- Ible, Bruns and Weisel. Each cottage was beautifully presented. The two cottages with children also had an Easter goody bag filled with some Easter treats which was a beautiful touch. The cottages were modern, nicely furnished and thought had been put into them. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need and more (probably the best equipped I’ve seen in a self catering let), and even though they leave you basic supplies, these were plentiful. More than enough in our cottage for 2 adults and 2 children. Onsite they have a kids playground with slides and a Wendy house, plus a games room and an indoor swimming pool. The pool area was clean, modern and very well looked after. There is a pub less than 5 minutes walk away, which was nice to relax in after a long walk. You can walk to Carsington Reservoir in 15 minutes along the public footpath. We have had a wonderful, much needed family holiday, made better for the wonderful accommodation.

We had our wedding this weekend at Knockerdown, and the team went out of their way to make us feel welcome, comfortable, relaxed and v important! The cottages were perfect. Warm, well stocked, homely. The location is perfect. The pool was brilliant. Everything was just brilliant. I would not have a bad word to say about Knockerdown. If you're planning a weekend weekend. Book here. You will absolutely not regret it and you will have the most amazing memories.
